Wake Tech women's volleyball released their 2018 season schedule today.
Stephanie Sports is entering her 8th year at the helm of the Eagles and is excited about the upcoming season, "I'm looking forward to another successful year," Sports adds, "this season will be interesting because now we have 14 teams in our conference and we're only required to play each team once. So each game carries a lot of weight for the postseason."
The Eagles are on quite a streak as the program has won 20 or more matches in seven consecutive seasons, including a program-best 32 wins in 2014.
Wake Tech has a solid foundation for the 2018 campaign and the team has the potential to make a lot of noise in the conference- Coach Sports agrees, "We're returning five players, three of which were All-Region in 2017 and I'm expecting big things from our incoming class."
One week after the start of the fall semester, Wake Tech will host Vance-Granville Community College to kick off the regular season on Thursday, August 23rd.
On September 8th and 9th, Wake Tech will host Spartanburg Methodist, Richard Bland, Walter's State, and Johnson & Wales University in the first-ever Eagle Invitational at the Southern Wake Campus, Building N, gym.
October is shaping up to be a very busy month, as Wake Tech will close out the season with 13 consecutive home matches.
For Coach Sports, each season is a brand new opportunity for growth, "I'm looking forward to our sophomore leaders shaping our freshman class," she continues, "watching the team grow, making exciting plays, and putting together a quality season is so rewarding."
