Nyeshea “Nye” McKoy enters her first season as Associate Coach at Wake Tech. A former standout at Barton College, she played under legendary Coach Wendee Saintsing, who won over 600 games at the Division II level, and was coached by current Wake Tech Head Coach Daniel Colvin during her collegiate career.

McKoy is one of the most accomplished players in Barton history, finishing with 2,011 career points (4th all-time), ranking 8th in assists and 2nd in steals, and setting the program’s single-season scoring average record at 24 points per game. A four-time All-Conference selection and multiple All-Region honoree, she was a two-time Conference Player of the Year and Conference Female Athlete of the Year, helping lead Barton to two regular-season conference championships and one tournament title.

Prior to joining the Wake Tech staff, McKoy served as the Head Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, North Carolina. McKoy will focus primarily on guard development and instilling toughness within the program, bringing a competitive mindset and high-level playing experience to help build a strong, winning culture at Wake Tech.

McKoy earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Barton College in 2014 and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Keiser University in 2021.
