The first game after a holiday break can be a challenge for any team. That was not the case for Wake Tech on Wednesday, November 29th. A season high 28 points from freshman forward Timia Grant gave the Eagles a comfortable lead throughout the contest and Wake Tech rolled to an 84-45 win over Johnston Community College.
It was an eye opening turn around for Wake Tech, considering the first time these two teams met 21-days ago resulted in a much closer battle. Deploying a balanced attack on offense and a smothering defense, the Eagles looked poised for much of the contest. There were some mental lapses late, but the game was well within hand by then.
Wake Tech was anchored by three players scoring in double figures: Timia Grant 28 points, Khadijah Daniels 15 points, and DaShawna Smith added 10 points.
The team needs to be primed and ready for the next game. Wake Tech travels to Louisburg College on Monday, December 4th for a 5:00pm tip-off.
