A night of celebration turns into a lesson on closing out contests. Wake Tech took control of their conference match up with Cape Fear Community College in the second quarter by holding the Sea Devils to only seven points in ten minutes of play.
The 30-19 halftime score seemed too good to be true and Cape Fear came out fired up in the third quarter, cutting the lead to 50-41.
Wake Tech tried to hang on in the fourth quarter, but everything started going south and Cape Fear used a late outburst to capture and maintain the lead. The Sea Devils escaped with a victory and remain undefeated on the season. For Wake Tech, they are now 2-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
