Raleigh, N.C. — Wake Tech Men's Soccer kicked off their 2025 season on Tuesday afternoon, and did so in dominant fashion, defeating Virginia Peninsula Club 8-0.
The Eagles wasted no time to open up the scoring, with sophomore midfielder Vicente Estrada-Nunez converting from the penalty spot in the sixth minute. Pablo Vargas scored the second goal in the sixth minute, with David Cervantes making it 3-0 in the eighth.
Virginia Peninsula kept the attack at bay for the remainder of the first half, but it was a big second half for the Eagles. Andrew Crews scored in the 60th minute, assisted by Joe Steiner. Pablo Vargas scored unassisted in the 64th, his second of the match.
In the 66th minute, sophomore defender Trey Hill sprinted half the distance of the pitch and into the Virginia Peninsula box, squaring a pass to Sam Dafaa who buried it in the back of the net fo rthe seventh goal of the match.
Jackson Pullen's 72nd minute goal, assisted by Andrew Crews, ended the match early with an eight-goal lead and more than 70 minutes played. The freshman midfielder scored his first collegiate goal just five minutes earlier.
Next up, the first road trip of the season for the Eagles. They head west to Knoxville, TN for a matchup with Region 17's Pellissippi State.
