RALEIGH, NC — Wake Tech Men's Basketball returned from holiday break in style with a 102-72 win over Sandhills at home. Sandhills entered the game as the #3-ranked NJCAA DIII team in the country. The Eagles improve to 8-9 on the season and conclude the non-conference portion of their schedule as winners of three straight.
The game was tied 39-39, but it was all Eagles in the second half. Powered by transition offense and three-point shooting, Wake Tech put up their highest point total in a half (63) since January 7, 2023. The last time the Eagles scored that many in the second half was against Sandhills back on November 13, 2021 in a 125-106 victory.
Multiple players tied or set new career highs for points on Saturday: Joshua Stevenson (20), Gabriel Marquis (13), Jaylen Miller (10), Amir Muhammad (4).
The Eagles resume conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Wilmington to take on Cape Fear.
