February Student-Athlete Spotlight: Tequan Holley, Iveonna Ward
RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake Tech Athletics is proud to recognize two outstanding student-athletes as part of its Student-Athlete Spotlight for the month of February. This monthly honor highlights individuals who excel not only in their respective sports, but also in the classroom and the community. Iveonna Ward (women's basketball) and Tequan Holley (men's basketball) are the honorees for the month of February.
Iveonna Ward, Women's Basketball
Ward has put together a strong freshman season, leading the team in scoring (16.8) and is third among all Region 10 DII players. Ward is also second on the team in rebounding (4.9). The Elizabethtown native put together three consecutive 25-point performances in the month of January. In those three games, she finished with 10 field goals made in each.
Women's basketball has seven remaining regular season games, and will look to build on Thursday's victory at Richard Bland, where Ward scored 20 points.
Tequan Holley, Men's Basketball
Holley has taken a major step up for the Eagles in his sophomore campaign, starting in all 22 games this season. He is third on the team in scoring (11.5) and second in rebounding (6.6). He has scored in double figures in 16 games this season, including a career-high 19 points in a 77-67 win over CCBC Catonsville on November 23.
Wake Tech men's basketball travles to Hudson on Saturday for a matchup with Caldwell Tech.
